A NIGHTCLUB which was left red-faced after US star Rihanna failed to show up for a high-profile performance has lined up ex-Destiny's Child singer Kelly.
R&B star Rihanna failed to appear for her much-publicised appearance at Talk nightclub, in Lucy Road, Southend, on Friday, March 7.
However, the club's management has now lined up Rowland - who has a current top 20 hit with Work - to sing a number of her hits on Friday, March 21.
Steve Cochrane, entertainments manager at Talk, said: "Hopefully this will alleviate a lot of the disappointment of Rihanna's non appearance.
"We want to make amends with our customers by giving them Kelly Rowland, a major US star."
Partygoers who paid to see Rihanna and either left their e-mail address or still have their entry tickets will get free admission to this event.

Talk has previously said it is unable to compensate all who bought tickets.
However, on return of the fee paid to an agent claiming to represent Rihanna, it will make a donation of £5,000 to Fair Havens Hospice.
